Alice de was born in 1129 in Lucy, Maine, Normandy, France.  Alice de's father was Richard "The Loyal" de Lucy , Justiciar-England and her mother was Rohese FitzRichard de Clare.  Her paternal grandparents were Adrian de Lucy and Aveline Goth; her maternal grandfather was Richard FitzRichard de Clare , Abbot of Ely. She had three brothers and two sisters, named William de, Geoffrey de, Robert de, Aveline de and Maud de.  She was the second youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 68 in 1197 in Castle Prudhoe, Northumberland, England.
