John 2nd Baron was born in 1288 in Titchmarsh, Thrapston, Northamptonshire, England. John 2nd Baron's father was John 1st Baron Lovel , of Titchmarsh, Sir and his mother was Joan de Ros. His paternal grandparents were John Lovel , of Titchmarsh, Sir and Maud de Sydenham , Heiress of Titchmarsh; his maternal grandparents were Robert IV "1st Baron" de Ros , of Belvoir, MP and Isabel de Albini , Heiress of Belvoir. He had a half-sister named Maud. He died at the age of 26 on June 24th, 1314 in Battle of Bannockburn, Stirling, Scotland.General Notes
BARONY OF LOVEL (II)
JOHN (LOVEL), LORD LOVEL, son and heir by 2nd wife, aged 22 at his father's death. In 1302 he had been put in possession of the manor of Titchmarsh. He had livery of his lands 15 December 1310, and the King pardoned the relief due from him. He was summoned to Parliament f rom 16 June 1311 till his death.
He married Maud, eventually heir of her brother, Edward BURNELL [LORD BURNELL and daughter of Sir Philip BURNELL, of Acton Burnell, by Maud, sister of Richard (FITZALAN), EARL OF ARUNDEL, and daughter of John FITZALAN. She was aged 25 in 1315. He died 24 June 1314, being killed at Bannockburn. His widow, Maud, was suing for her dower in February 1314/5. She married, before 4 Dember 1315, and without the King's licence, Sir John DE HAUDLO, who died 5 August 1346. She died before 17 May 1341.
