Adaliza of was born in 1116 in Louvain, Belgium.  Adaliza of's father was Godfrey I Duke of Lorraine and her mother was Ida of Chiny & Namur.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry II of Brabant and Adela of Betewe; her maternal grandparents were Otto II Count of Chiny and Alice Adelaide of Namur. She had a sister named Ida of Lower.  She was the younger of the two children.  She died at the age of 35 on April 23rd, 1151 in Affligem Abbey, Flanders, France.
