Thierry II Duke of Alsace was born about 1044 in Alsace & Lorraine, France. Thierry II Duke of Alsace's father was Gerhard IV Duke of Alsace Upper Lorraine and his mother was Hadwide de Namur. He had two brothers and a sister, named Dietrich II Duke of Upper, Gerard I Count of and Beatrice de. He was the oldest of the four children.
