Agathe de was born in 1119 in Nancy, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Lorraine, France. Agathe de's father was Simon I Duke de Lorraine and her mother was Adelheid (Adelaide) de Louvain. Her paternal grandparents were Thierry II Duke of Alsace Lorraine and Hedwig von Formbach; her maternal grandparents were Henry III Count of Louvain and Gertrude of Flanders. She had a brother and a sister, named Mathieu I Duke of and Mathilde of. She was the second oldest of the three children. She died after 1147.-
