Alice was born in 1092. Alice's father was Earl/Earl Ranulph III LE MESCHINS BAYEUX and her mother was Lucy THOROLDSDOTTIR. Her paternal grandparents were Viscount Ranulph II DE BRIQUISART DE MESCHINE BAYEUX and Maud D'AVRANCHES; her maternal grandparents were Earl of Liecestershire Thorold Sheriff Of Lincoln OF BUCKNALL and Beatrice MALET. She had two brothers named William Of Copeland and Ranulph Of Chester. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Ethelred Of Kendal, Matilda and Beatrice. She died at the age of 44 in 1136.General Notes

Morgan, one of her youthfulsons, perished with her, and the second, Maelgwn, was takenprisoner. But Owain and Cadwaladr, sons of Gruffydd Ap Cynan,now came down from the north, destroyed Aberstwith Castle, andin the second week of Oct. they fought along with Gruffydd ApRhys a great battle near Aberteivi(Cardigan), in which thry wona decided victory over Stephen, constable of Aberteivi and "Allthe Flemings, all the marchers, and all the French from Aberneddto Aberteivi"
