Amalric King of was born in 1136 in Jerusalem. Amalric King of's father was Foulques V "le Jeune" Count Of ANJOU KING OF JERUSALEM and his mother was Melisende D' EDESSE. His paternal grandparents were Geoffroy II Count GASTINOIS and Ermengarde Anjou Countess D'Anjou. He had three brothers and a sister, named Baudouin III D', Baldwin III King of Jerusalem of, Amaury (Almalrich I) de and Savilla of. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Elias D', Geoffrey V "le Bon", Mathilde D', Sibilla D' and Isabell D'. He died at the age of 38 in 1174 in Levant.General Notes
Also spelled Amaury. King of Jerusalum 1162-1174. He was a strong king. The Arabs describ e him as thin shouldered, a man that would embaras those around with laughter, and he stutter ed. He became king following his brother Baldwin III. He traveled to Constantinople in 117 1 to gain the suport from the Greeks. Manuel Comnenus was King of Constantinople at the tim e however he died in 1180 which changed the relationship between Jerusalem and Constantinople . In 1174 King Amarlic died. He brought Abu Sulayman Dawud, an Egyptian Doctor to treat Bald win IV's lepercy.
