Margaret de was born about 1308 in West Derby, Lancashire, England. Margaret de's father was Robert III 1st Baron de Holand , KG, Sir and her mother was Maud la Zouche. Her paternal grandparents were Robert II de Holand , Sir Knight and Elizabeth de Salmesbury; her maternal grandparents were Alan 1st Baron la Zouche , of Ashby, Sir and Eleanor de Segrave. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Robert IV 2nd de, Thomas de, John de, Maud de, Isabel de and Elizabeth de. She was the oldest of the seven children.General Notes
