Lora de was born about 1268 in Ashill, Swaffham, Norfolk, England. Lora de's father was Henry de Hastings , of Ashill, Sir and her mother was Joan de Cantelou , Heiress of Abergavenny. Her paternal grandparents were Henry de Hastings , of Ashill, Sir and Ada de Huntingdon; her maternal grandparents were William III de Cantelou , of Calne & Ashton,Sir and Eve de Braose , Heiress of Abergavenny. She had a brother and a sister, named John 1st Baron de and Audra. She was the youngest of the three children. She died before July 2nd, 1339 in Chipping Warden, Banbury, Northamptonshire, England.General Notes

He [Thomas le Latimer] married, before July 1297, Lora, daughter of Henry DE HASTINGS, who brought, as a gift from John de Hastings, lord of Abergavenny, the soke, for life, of Oswaldbeck, Notts. He died shortly before 2 February 1333/4, on which day the writs to the escheators were issued. A wooden effigy in Braybrook Church is supposed to mark his tomb. His widow held the soke of Oswaldbeck according to the grant of John de Hastings, and had dower assigned from Wardon, Braybrook, &c., 7 February 1334/5.
