Sir William Fitz-William, of Sprotborough, who, in the 29th Edward I [1301], was in the Scottish wars but the next reign, joining in the great insurrection of Thomas, Earl of Lancaster, he was made prisoner with that nobleman at Boroughbridge, and hanged immediately after at York.
