*John Field 
*John was born on May 22nd, 1644 in Providence, Providence Co, RI. *John's father was John Field and his mother was Ruth Fairbanks. His paternal grandparents were William Field and Jane Sotwell. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Daniel, Zachariah, Hannah and Ruth. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died before March 8th, 1698 in Bridgewater, Plymouth Co, MA.General Notes

!3 May 1695 He deeded (for natural love and affection for his deceased brother Zachariah) to four of his brother's children, viz: John, James, Daniel and Joseph, all lands in Providence " which did formerly belong to my honoured father John Field of Providence, deceased"... The land, however, was to be for the use of Sarah Field, widow of Zachariah, during her widowhood or till the boys were 21, at which time they were to have it equally, and they were to provide their mother with a maintenance if she remained a widow after they were of age. [N.B. Sarah married John Gurney 17 Sep 1695.] Ibid.
! 28 Dec 1696 He deeded John Gurney [2nd husband of his brother Zachariah's widow Sarah] of Providence, for 20 pounds, a tract of land a mile east of Mashwansacut containing 60 acres, and 5 acraes of meadow, bounded partly by land "formerly belonging to my father-in-law, viz: Anthony Everden now deceased."
