William III de was born about 1193 in Derby, Derbyshire, England.  William III de's father was William II de Ferrers , 4th Earl of Derby and his mother was Agnes of Chester , Lady of Chartley.  His paternal grandparents were William I de Ferrers , 3rd Earl of Derby and Sybil de Braose; his maternal grandparents were Hugh de Kevelioc , 5th Earl of Chester and Bertrade de Montfort. He had two sisters named Bertha de and Sibyl de.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died before March 28th, 1254 in Evington, Leicestershire, England.  He was buried on March 31st, 1254 in Sheriff of Lancaster.

‌William III de and Sibyl were married in a religious ceremony before May 14th, 1219 in 1st wife.  They had five daughters named Isabel de, Agnes de, Maud (Matilda) de, Eleanor de and Joan de.

‌William III de and Margaret de were married in a religious ceremony before 1238 in 2nd wife.  They had two sons and four daughters, named Robert de, William IV, Elizabeth de, Joan de, Agnes de and Berta de.
