Herbert Of Shropshire was born in 1130 in Brecknock, Wales. Herbert Of Shropshire's father was Herbert "Of Winchester" FITZHERBERT and his mother was Sibyl CORBET. His maternal grandfather was Lord Robert Of Alcester, Warwickshire CORBET. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Reginald Dunstanville Of Cornwall, Constance and Alice. Credited with the first unification of the country, convertedthe Danes to Christianity, and conquered Norway. After hisBaptism his fathers pagan tomb was transformed into a Christianplace of worship.
Introduced Christianity into Denmark, he had the famous Jellingrune stone erected in his parent memory. He was fatally woundedduring a rebellion by his son and successor, Sveng I.
