Rognvald "The Wise" Eysteinsson , Jarl of More 
Rognvald "The Wise" was born about 0840. Rognvald "The Wise"'s father was Eystein "Glumra" Ivarsson , Jarl of Hedemarken and his mother was Aseda Rognvaldsdotter. His paternal grandparents were Ivar "Oplaendinge" Halfdansson , Jarl and Gundella de Bellensted; his maternal grandfather was Rognvald Olafsson. He had a brother named Malahule (Haldrick). He was the older of the two children.General Notes
Rogenwald was a supporter of King Harold Harfagr, and assisted him in obtaining the mastery over the other independent Norwegian chiefs, and in establishing himself as King of all Norway. He was Earl of More and Raumdahl in Norway, and in 888, he obtained from King Harold a grant of the Orkney and Shetland islands. One of his sons, Rollo, conquered Neustria, founded the line of sovereign Dukes of Normandy, and was ancestor to William the Conqueror.
They had a son named Duke of Normandy.
