Ethelred [AEthelred] "King of England" was born about 0840 in Berkshire, England. Ethelred [AEthelred] "King of England"'s father was King AEthelwulf [Ethelwulf] de Wessex of England and his mother was Queen Osburga [Osburh] (Judith) Ostacsdatter of Wessex. He had two brothers named Ethlwulf "Nobel Wolf" and Alfred "The Great". He was the second oldest of the three children. He died on April 23rd, 0871 in Basing OR Merton. He was buried in Winchester, England.General Notes
The vikings launched a full scale invasion of England. He diedafter his victory at Ashdown leaving his brother to fight on.Some say buried at Sherborne Abbey. He was reputed as a Saintafter his death.
House of Wessex & House of Cerdic. Developed the "wasting cough"(poss. tuberculosis?) as a result of years of exposure to theelements during a guerrilla warfare campaign against theVikings. Banner was a golden dragon (the golden dragon was thebanner either of the Kingdom of Wessex, or that of AEthelred, orthat of his younger brother Alfred the Great King of the WestSaxons & England's). He had a biological son and a biological daughter, named Aethelhelm and Elgiva.
