Gilbert Marshal Earl of Pembroke

Gilbert Marshal was born in 1194.  Gilbert Marshal's father was Sir William Marshal Earl of Pembroke and his mother was Isabel de Clare Cts de Strigoil. He had four brothers and six sisters, named William Marshal II, Richard Marshal, Walter Marshal, Anselm Marshal, Margaret, Maud, Isabella, Johanna (Joan), Sibilla and Eva.  He was the fourth oldest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 47 on June 27th, 1241 in Hertford Priory.
