Gospatric I Earl of Northumbria Mormaer was born about 1040 in Allerdale, Cumbria, England.  Gospatric I Earl of Northumbria Mormaer's father was Maldred Lord of Carlisle & Allerdale and his mother was Aeldgyth (Edith) of Northumbria.  His paternal grandparents were Crinan the Thane Lay Abbot of Dunkeld and Bethoc (Beatrix) Princess of Scotland; his maternal grandparents were Uchtred I Earl of Northumbria and Alfgifu (Elgiva) Princess of England. He had a brother named Maldred of.  He was the older of the two children.  He died on December 15th, 1074 in Ubbanford now Norham, Northumberland, England.
