Thomas II was born in 1199.  Thomas II's father was Thomas I De Maurienne Comte De Savoie and his mother was Marguerite De Faucigny.  His paternal grandparents were Humbert III De Maurienne Comte De Savoie and Beatrix De Macon; his maternal grandmother was Contessa De Geneve. He had two brothers named Pierre Comte and Phillipe I Comte.  He was the oldest of the three children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Amadeo and Beatrice.  He died at the age of 60 in 1259.
