Pierre Comte was born about 1203 in Savoy. Pierre Comte's father was Thomas I De Maurienne Comte De Savoie and his mother was Marguerite De Faucigny. His paternal grandparents were Humbert III De Maurienne Comte De Savoie and Beatrix De Macon; his maternal grandmother was Contessa De Geneve. He had two brothers named Thomas II and Phillipe I Comte. He was the second oldest of the three children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Amadeo and Beatrice. He died in 1268 in Savoie, France.General Notes
The Savoy Palace in London was built in 1245 for Peter, Earl of Savoy and Richmond. It later became the palace of John of Gaunt Duke of Lancaster, and his heirs. (later site of the Savoy Theater of Gilbert & Sullivan fame ca. 1870's.)
