Joan was born in 1355. Joan's father was John De Neville III Baron Neville and her mother was Maud De Percy. Her paternal grandparents were Ralph De Neville II Baron Neville and Alice De Audley; her maternal grandparents were Henry De Percy X Baron Percy and Idoine De Clifford. She had two brothers named Thomas De Neville Lord and Ralph De Neville I Earl of. She was the oldest of the three children. She had a half-sister named Elizabeth.-
