John De Montacute 
John was born in 1256. John's father was William De Montacute Earl of Salisbury and his mother was Bertha (Montacute). His paternal grandfather was William De Montacuto. He had a brother named Simon de Montacute I Baron. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 34 in 1290.General Notes
John de Montacute was a distinguished warrior, one of the heroes of the Battle of Cressy. He was summoned to Parliament as a Baron from Feb. 15, 1387, to Dec. 6, 1389, and died 1390. He and Margaret had John, who succeeded his uncle as 3rd Earl of Salisbury, Thomas, Robert, Simon, Eleanor, Katherine, Sibyl and Margaret.
They had a daughter named Margaret.
