Elizabeth was born in 1314 in Montacute, Somersetshire, England. Elizabeth's father was William Montacute II Baron Montacute and her mother was Elizabeth De Montfort. Her paternal grandparents were Simon de Montacute I Baron Montacute and Aufrica Princess of the Isle of Man; her maternal grandparents were Peter Lord Montford of Beaudefort and Maud De La Warr. She had a brother and a sister, named William Montacute III Baron and Alice. She was the youngest of the three children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named William De Furnival IV Baron and Joan.-
