Gruffudd Ap was born in 1055 in Dublin, Ireland.  Gruffudd Ap's father was Prince Of North Wales Cynan Ap Iago Prince Of North Wales and his mother was Ragnaillt O'olaf Of Dublin.  His paternal grandparents were Iago Ap Idwal and Afandreg Verch Gwair; his maternal grandparents were Olaf Sihtricsson King Of Dublin and Maelcorcre Ingen D˙nlaing Leinster.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 82 in 1137 in Wales.  He was buried in Bangor Cathedral, Is Gwyrfai, Caernarvonshire, Wales.


Gruffudd Ap's first family with Angharat Verch Owain

‌Gruffudd Ap and Angharat Verch were married in a religious ceremony about 1095.  They had four sons and nine daughters, named Cadwaladr Ap, Owain Gwynedd Ap, Membyr "Ddu" Ap, Tudwal Ap, Margred Verch, Rhanullt Verch, Gwenllian Verch, Elen Verch, Merinedd Verch, Susanna Verch, Rhael Verch, Annes Verch and Gwladys.
