Dorothea was born on June 5th, 1650 in New York City, New York Co. New York. Dorothea's father was Jockem Colyer (Collier) and her mother was Magdalene Waele. Her paternal grandparents were Mr Colyer (Collier) and Mrs Colyer (Collier); her maternal grandparents were Michiel Waele and Annetje Waele. She had four brothers and a sister, named Jacobus, Jurien, Michiel, Jacobus and Annetje. She was the third youngest of the six children.-
