Gilbert De was born on September 12th, 1229 in Gloucestershire, England.  Gilbert De's father was Gilbert De Clare Earl Gloucester & Hertford and his mother was Isabel Marshal [Countess Of Cornwall]. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Richard De, William De, Avicia De, Isabel De, Adeliza De and Agnes De.  He was the youngest of the seven children.  He died after 1241.
