Gisela of was born about 1060 in Bourgogne, France.  Gisela of's father was William I "The Great" Count of Macon & Burgundy and her mother was Stephanie (Etiennette) de Longwy. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Stephen (Etienne) "Tete Hardi" Comte de, Raymond of, Ermentrude of, Matilda of and Clemence Clementia of.  She was the third oldest of the six children.  She died in 1133.
