Susan Maud de was born about 1160 in Bramber, Sussex, England.  Susan Maud de's father was William II de Braose , 1st Baron of Abergavenny and her mother was Bertha de Gloucester , Heiress of Brecon. She had a brother and three sisters, named William III 5th Baron de, Matilda (Maud) de, Sybil de and Bertha de.  She was the youngest of the five children.  She died on December 29th, 1210 in Llanbadarn Fawr, Perfedd, Cardiganshire, Wales.
