Joan De was born about 1175 in Bramber, Sussex, England.  Joan De's father was Lord Bramber William III 5Th Baron De Braose Lord Bramber and her mother was [Lady Of Lahaie] Maud (Matilda) De St. Valery [Lady Of Lahaie].  Her paternal grandparents were 1st Baron Of Gwentland William II De William De 1st Baron Of Gwentland/Braose and Heiress Of Brecon Bertha De Bertha De Heiress Of Brecon/Pitres. She had thirteen brothers and six sisters, named Roger De, Robert De, Thomas De, William IV The Younger De, Giles De, Walter De, Reginald De, Hugh De, Henry De, Bernard De, Fulk De, Phlilp De, John De, Flandrina De, Matilda De, Laurette De, Margaret De, Leuca De and Eleanor De.  She was the eighth oldest of the twenty children.  She died on November 13th, 1215 in Gloucester, Gloustershire, England.
