Engeram De was born about 1154 in Bramber, Sussex, England.  Engeram De's father was 1st Baron Of Gwentland William II De William De 1st Baron Of Gwentland/Braose and his mother was Heiress Of Brecon Bertha De Bertha De Heiress Of Brecon/Pitres. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Philip De, William III 5Th Baron De, Reginald De, Roger De, Giles De, Maud De, Avelina Agnes De, Matilda (Maud) De, Sybil De, Bertha De and Susan Maud De.  He was the fifth youngest of the twelve children.
