Eleanor de was born in 1230 in Brecon, Breconshire, Wales.  Eleanor de's father was William 6th Baron de Braose , Lord Abergavenny and her mother was Eva Marshal.  Her paternal grandparents were Reginald Baron de Braose , Lord Abergavenny and Grecia (Grace) de Briwere; her maternal grandparents were William Marshal , 4th Earl of Pembroke and Isabel de Clare , Countess of Pembroke. She had two sisters named Eve de and Maud de.  She was the youngest of the three children.  She died after 1252 in Llanthony Inn, Gloucestershire, England.

‌Eleanor de and Humphrey VI de were married in a religious ceremony in Brecknock, Breconshire, Wales.  They had a son and two daughters, named Humphrey VII de, Eleanor (Alianore) de and Margery (Margaret) de.
