Humphrey VI de was born in 1225 in Herfordshire, Essex, England.  Humphrey VI de's father was Humphrey V de Bohun , 2nd Earl Hereford&Essex and his mother was Maud d' Eu.  His paternal grandparents were Henry de Bohun , 1st Earl of Hereford, MCS and Maud FitzGeoffrey , Countess of Essex; his maternal grandparents were Raoul I de Lusignan , Comte d'Eu and Alice Countess d' Eu , Lady Hastings. He had a sister named Alice de.  He was the older of the two children. He had a half-sister named Eleanor de.  He died at the age of 42 on August 27th, 1267 in (dvp).

‌Humphrey VI de and Eleanor de were married in a religious ceremony in Brecknock, Breconshire, Wales.  They had a son and two daughters, named Humphrey VII de, Eleanor (Alianore) de and Margery (Margaret) de.
