Matilde De was born about 1069. Matilde De's father was Sir William I Baron De Braose Sir and her mother was Agnes De St. Clare. Her paternal grandparents were Robert Le Brus and Gunnora; her maternal grandparents were Walderne De St. Clair and Helene "Le Bon" De Normandy. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Philip Baron De, Adam De, John De, Eva De and Hortense De. She was the oldest of the six children.-
