Philip I De was born about 1164 in Youlton, Easingwold, Yorkshire, England.  Philip I De's father was Viscount Maine Richard I Seigneur De Beaumont Viscount Maine and his mother was Lucie De L' Aigle. He had a brother and two sisters, named Raoul VI De, Ermengarde De and Constance De.  He was the second youngest of the four children.
