Ermengarde De was born about 1158 in Beaumont-Le-Vicomte, Maine, France.  Ermengarde De's father was Viscount Maine Richard I Seigneur De Beaumont Viscount Maine and her mother was Lucie De L' Aigle. She had two brothers and a sister, named Philip I De, Raoul VI De and Constance De.  She was the oldest of the four children.  She died in Balmerino Abbey, Fife, Scotland.  She was buried in Balmerino Abbey.
