Robert "Bossu" de was born in 1104 in Leicester, Leicestershire, England.  Robert "Bossu" de's father was Robert de Beaumont Count of Meulan and his mother was Isabel (Elizabeth) de Vermandois.  His paternal grandparents were Roger de Beaumont and Adeliza Meulent Countess of Meul; his maternal grandparents were Hugh "The Great" Crepi Count of Vermand and Adelaide Countess of Vermandois. He had a brother and a sister, named Waleran Count of and Isabel (Elizabeth) de. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named William III de, Reginald de, Ada de and Gundred de.  He died at the age of 64 on April 5th, 1168 in England.  He was buried in Leicester Abbey, Leicester, Leicestershire, England.
