Her paternal grandparents were Walcheline (Walter) De Beauchamp Walter and Joane (Isabel) De Mortimer Isabel; her maternal grandparents were (Baron) William V Mauduit (Baron) and Alice De Newburg. She had five brothers and three sisters, named William De, Walter Lord De, John Of Holt De, Thomas De, James De, Isabel De, Sybil De and Sarah De. She was the second oldest of the nine children.
