Euphemia was born about 1249 in Barnard Castle, Gainford, Durham, England.  Euphemia's father was John I de Baliol , Regent of Scotland and her mother was Devorgilla of Galloway.  Her paternal grandparents were Hugh de Baliol , Lord Gainford and Cicely de Fontaines; her maternal grandparents were Alan of Galloway , Constable of Scotland and Margaret de Huntingdon. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Alexander, John II de, William de, Cecily de, Eleanor (Alianora) de and Ada de.  She was the third youngest of the seven children.  She died in Fearn, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland.
