Maud de was born in 1310 in Chilham Castle, Badlesmere, Kent, England.  Maud de's father was Bartholomew IV 1st Baron de Badlesmere , Sir and her mother was Margaret de Clare.  Her paternal grandparents were Guncelin de Badlesmere , Justiciar of Chester and Joan FitzBernard; her maternal grandparents were Thomas de Clare , Lord of Thomond, Gov London and Juliane FitzMaurice. She had a brother and three sisters, named Giles 2nd Baron de, Margery de, Elizabeth de and Margaret de.  She was the second oldest of the five children.  She died at the age of 56 on May 24th, 1366.

‌Maud de and John de were married in a religious ceremony before March 27th, 1336 in 2nd husband.  They had a son and two daughters, named Aubrey de, Elizabeth de and Margaret de.
