Elizabeth de was born in 1313 in Chilham Castle, Badlesmere, Kent, England.  Elizabeth de's father was Bartholomew IV 1st Baron de Badlesmere , Sir and her mother was Margaret de Clare.  Her paternal grandparents were Guncelin de Badlesmere , Justiciar of Chester and Joan FitzBernard; her maternal grandparents were Thomas de Clare , Lord of Thomond, Gov London and Juliane FitzMaurice. She had a brother and three sisters, named Giles 2nd Baron de, Margery de, Maud de and Margaret de.  She was the third oldest of the five children.  She died at the age of 43 on June 8th, 1356 in Richmond Palace, Surrey, England.  She was buried in Black Friars, London, England.
