Constance was born about 1235 in Merston, Bedford, Eng. Constance's father was Ralph FitzJohn de Merston and her mother was Isabel de Clinton. Her paternal grandfather was John de Merston; her maternal grandfather was Henry de Clinton. She was an only child.
