Reynald was born about 1008 in Croy, Normandy, Fr. Reynald's father was Foulbert de Falaise and his mother was Doda de Falaise. His maternal grandparents were Malcomb Mac Kenneth and Aelgifu ingen Sigurd. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Walter, Odbern, Herleve, Harlette and Beatrice. He was the third oldest of the six children.-
