Robert was born in 1030 in Annandale, Dumfries, Scotland. Robert's father was Rognvald II Brusesson and his mother was Countess Arlogia of Orkney. His paternal grandparents were Brusi Sigurdsson and Ostrida Regenwaldsdotter; his maternal grandfather was Duke Waldemar of Russia. He was an only child. He died about 1108.General Notes
Knight of Normandy under William the Conqueror. Hero of the Battle of Hastings, and rewarded with numerous Lordships. The Manor of Skelton was the capitol of his Barony, in Yorkshire.
