William de Braose

William was born about 1049 in Brienze, Normandy, Fr. William's father was Robert de Brus and his mother was Emma de Brittanny. His paternal grandparents were Rognvald II Brusesson and Countess Arlogia of Orkney; his maternal grandparents were Count Alan III of Brittany and Bertha de Chartres. He had two brothers named Adam and Robert. He was the oldest of the three children.
