Richard was born on September 8th, 1157 in Beaumont Palace, Oxford, Eng. Richard's father was Henry II Plantagenet and his mother was Eleanor d'Aquitaine . His paternal grandparents were Geoffrey "The" Plantagenet and Matilda II UNKNOWN. He had four brothers and three sisters, named William, Henry, Geoffrey, John, Matilda, Eleanor and Joan. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He had three half-brothers named Geoffrey, Peter and William.-
