William Mettler

William was born in 1743 in Rockaway Vallet, Hunterdon Co, NJ. William's father was Johann George Mettler and his mother was Ann Johanna Pfenniger. His paternal grandparents were Hannss George (Jerg) Mettler and Margaaretha Imarth. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Johann Philip, Johann George, Johann Erwin, Johann Henry, Maria Catherine, Ann Elizabeth, Franciscus and Ann Maria "Barbara". He was the youngest of the nine children.
