Her paternal grandparents were Hannss George (Jerg) Mettler and Margaaretha Imarth. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Johann Philip, Johann George, Johann Erwin, Johann Henry, William, Maria Catherine, Ann Elizabeth and Franciscus. She was the third youngest of the nine children.-
