Philadelphia was born about 1680 in Essex City, York Co, VA. Philadelphia's father was Col William Lea and her mother was Mary Green. Her paternal grandparents were Capt William Lea and Catherine Anne Ironmonger; her maternal grandparents were Charles Green and Elizabeth Iverson. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Capt John, William, Unknown and Mary. She was the second youngest of the five children.-
