Emporer Alexius  I was born in 1056.  Emporer Alexius  I's father was Emporer Joannis (John) Comnenus and his mother was Empress Anna Dalassena.  His paternal grandfather was Manuel Comnenus; his maternal grandfather was Alexios Pharo the Patrician   ***. He had two brothers and a sister, named Manuel, King Isaac and Theodora.  He was the youngest of the four children.
