Lt Ebenezer was born on June 12th, 1700 in Guilford, New Haven, CT. Lt Ebenezer's father was Ebenezer Benton and his mother was Abigail Graves. His paternal grandparents were Daniel Benton and Rachel Gutteridge; his maternal grandparents were John Graves and Elizabeth Crittenden. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Daniel, Caleb, Elizabeth and Abigail. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 75 on February 11th, 1776.-
