Lawrence was born in 1568 in Sulgrave, Northumberland, England. Lawrence's father was Robert Washington and his mother was Elizabeth Light. His paternal grandparents were Lawrence Washington and Amy Pargiter; his maternal grandparents were Walter Light and Ursula Woodford. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Robert, Christopher, Walter, William, Thomas, Anne Amy, Ursula and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 48 on December 13th, 1616 in Brington, Northumberland, England.-
